Lucy Cameron Wiley

July 13, 2020

CHARLOTTE – A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Lucy Cameron Wiley left this world unexpectedly at 16, on July 13, 2020. Born in Charlotte, NC on September 21, 2003 to Hunter and Bibiana Wiley, Lucy grew up in the Freedom Park neighborhood and attended Myers Park High School.

Lucy was a lover of the arts and was always creating from deep within her heart. She enjoyed music and surrounded herself with all things calming and Zen. She was funny, outgoing, and vivacious, but she was also introspective and sometimes introverted. She was a kind soul who cared deeply for her family and friends. She also had a passion for the well-being of animals and adored her Maltipoo “Coco“. We will always remember her infectious smile and caring personality. Lucy was loved by many and her presence in our lives will sorely be missed.

When you think of Lucy, do it without sorrow but with gratitude of the bright light she brought to this earth. The hole we feel in our heart is in fact an opening. It is a passageway. A window for the light to pass from heaven into this world. It is an opening for lessons, light, messages, faith, hope, patience, and serenity. Love will pass from here to there and from there to here. Lucy is with us always.

Lucy leaves behind her parents; brothers, Quint and Baker; furbabies Zeus and Coco; grandparents, Howard and Betty Nichols; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte’s “Have a Heart” fund in Lucy‘s name. The link can be found at https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=hsc&id=384 .

What we once enjoyed and deeply loved
we can never lose, for all that we love
deeply becomes part of us.

My family lives in a neighborhood near where the crash happened. We were late getting to bed and were just about to say our family bedtime prayers when the power was suddenly knocked out. We said our prayers by flashlight in the 25 minutes following. Only later the next day did we find out about the accident that caused the power outage. We just wanted to let your family know that God had people praying for you, for Lucy, and her friends in the first moments after the crash before anyone even knew prayer was needed. We hope you find comfort in this and know that God loves you and will help you in ways you may never know this side of heaven. We continue to keep you all in our prayers.

To a courageous, resilient and loving family with an eclectic assortment of pets, this touching obituary captures the Lucy that our son, Miles, holds dear in his heart. She will forever be remembered in such an affectionate manner by our family. Dave, Emily, Miles and Peter

The love and kindness that Lucy released into this world enabled her to fulfill her earthly life’s purpose in only 16 short years. She acquired all of the spiritual attributes needed for the next world in a fraction of the time it takes most of us and now she is truly an angel. She is undoubtedly in peace in the heavenly realm praying for her loved ones just as fervently as they pray for her. I am so sad for Bibiana, Hunter, Quint and Baker and so thankful that they know Lucy’s beautiful soul lives forever and they will be reunited. Your family will forever be in my family’s prayers.

I was lucky enough to have known Lucy through my granddaughters, Summer and Sarina. She was always kind and laughed easily. Lucy gave me faith that our young ones are a generation of intelligence, kindness and hope. I feel blessed that she became such an Inspiration to my grandchildren. She was truly loved so deeply.
