After 28 years as the Manager Funeral Director at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home on East Boulevard, Ken now embarks on an exciting different path for his career and in his service to others. This new path is truly a new way to do an old business. Seeing an ever-increasing need, he opened an office in the Dilworth neighborhood where families have known him to be a part of their community for almost 30 years.
The new location at 1321 Berkeley Avenue is in a beautifully renovated historic home perfectly suited to this "new" way of conducting an old business. This home is a wonderful alternative to the more traditional funeral homes while continuing to provide a state-of-the-art facility, yet offering the comfort of a nice home where families feel welcome.
"I am honored and excited to continue doing the work for families that I believe I have been called to do"
Ken Poe
As the premier privately owned funeral and cremation service, we offer fair pricing which reflects a significant savings over traditional funeral homes.
When making the emotional and stressful decisions regarding your loved one’s arrangements many people prefer to do so in the comfort of their own home. We will always offer to come to the home or families are welcome to come to our comfortable office in Dilworth.
Unlike most area firms, from the moment we are notified of a death, your loved one is taken to our own secure and state-of-the-art facility. We will care for your loved one just as if they were a member of our family.
I wanted to say how pleased we were with the beautiful way you handled Kathryn’s funeral. It was done with dignity and peace and the love and support brought comfort to our family.
