CHARLOTTE – Robert Clement “Bob” Harding, 88, of Charlotte died Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Carrington Place in Matthews, NC. Services will be announced at a later date.

    As a youngster in the 1960s, I have such fond memories of Bob, Clyde Patten and my Dad, George, enjoying a laugh, cocktails and each other’s company when they were men in their late 30s or so.

    When I was a young man in my early 20s in 1980 or so, I vividly remember Bob talking to me as if I was an adult and a peer, and it is a memory that still lives with me. I don’t remember being spoken to as an adult at that point in my life when I was talking to my father’s friends.

    He was a special man and I hope those 3 are enjoying a happy moment now.

    He was a good and decent man, and that is a life lived well.

    Peggy, we are all sad that Bob had such an outcome. We were hoping so hard that things would work out better and he would come home. We heard that his passing was peaceful; which is such a blessing. Bob was a good friend and we will miss him very much. Our sympathy goes to you and Sharon, our good and faithful friends.
