Carolyn, your mother was a dear friend of mine in Sprtanburg. She would ask me, Karen Druley, and Jean Pugh to Wild Dunes for three days of tennis and bridge. From the moment we woke till we went to bed, we played either bridge or tennis with time out for lunch and dinner. It was so much fun and so many wonderful memories. She was a beautiful person on the inside as well as out. I was at Sharon Towers a year or so ago, but she was out. So sorry I missed her. Also, my ex daughter - in - law's mother lived next door to your son ( Becky Faust). Mary lived a full, wonderful life and loved you and your sons dearly. Love, June Steven

I am grieved to hear the sad news that Mary is no longer with us. She was a gem!! I gave her the name - Miss Hollywood! I will greatly miss talking with her on the phone around the holidays. She was looking forward to turning 100 on September 9th!! I am so glad that I have a copy of the picture of Mary and Harry. Miss Hollywood - you were loved and will be greatly missed!!

It was my great privilege and pleasure to be one of Mary's tennis partners who met weekly at Park Rd. Park's tennis courts. She was the best player, and her cute dog Harry accompanied her to the courts proving to be an ardent fan. Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and at the same time maintained being a gracious Southern lady. We all loved her and will treasure the memories of our times together, always special.

What a sweet and wonderful lady! I had no idea she was 99 years old as she always seemed much younger to me. I will miss her when I drive the Sharon Towers bus to Covenant.

She was a dear. I loved her sweetness and loving/ grateful spirit. I am a retired RN but worked part time in the clinic and Mary was one of the last residents I saw. What a blessing to have her for so many years.
