Mary "Jo" Ross

Jo Ross of Charlotte, died on August 8, 2018.  She was born in Belmont, NC on September 6, 1929 to Mary and Joseph Ferstl. 

Jo was an avid reader, a talented gardener and an accomplished stain glass artist.  The most important things in her life were her deep love for her family and her church.  She and her husband, John, have been married for 63 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Marcia Dover and her husband, Forrest and Laura Ross; a brother, Thomas David Ferstl; grandchildren; Josh, Matt (Dawn), Courtney, John Nick (Shawna) and Adam Dover.  She took great joy and pride in her five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Jo’s life will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 23rd. at Providence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Jefferies officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service.

The family has requested all donations be made to Providence United Methodist, 2810 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211 or the charity of your choice.

    John, Marcia and Laura I'm so sorry to hear about Jo. I have such fond memories of our childhood, MYF at Oak Grove UMC and high school. You all are in my prayers. I do know that God will get you through these next couple of days and in the future.. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

    I are so sorry to learn of my sister, Mary Jo Ferstl Ross, passing. She joins, our Father and Mother, two other sisters, Agnes and Elizabeth and two brothers, Gene and Michael and she will remain in my heart forever! She was the first Gaston County grandchild of Josef Ferstl and the first child of Joseph and Mary Ferstl! May God hold her in the Palms of His hands!
