Claire Emilie Hohmann

February 18, 2017

Claire Emilie Hohmann, beloved daughter of Neil and Katherine (Katy) Guilbeau Hohmann passed peacefully but unexpectedly from this earth on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 6:30 PM with her parents at her side. She was born in Shreveport, LA on May 20, 1977, and moved with her parents to Charlotte in 2008. She was the adored sister of Neil M. Hohmann and wife, Hillary, of New York City, NY and Mark C. Hohmann and wife, Natasha, of Seattle, WA; aunt of Andrew and Craig Hohmann of New York and Siena and Kaia Hohmann of Seattle; and niece of James Guilbeau of New Orleans and Anne and Charlie Long of San Antonio, TX. Claire had many cousins.

Claire was in the Autism Spectrum, and because of sensory issues, she had trouble in the average environment. These challenges brought out strength, compassion and faith in her family and everyone who worked with Claire. Claire loved to laugh and often made others laugh, while music and poetry gave her inner peace.

Claire’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Chapel, 4519 Providence Road. Memorials may be sent to Wing Haven Garden and Bird Sanctuary, 260 Ridgewood Ave., Charlotte, NC 28209 or The Nature Conservancy.

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204, (704) 641-7606. Online condolences can be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.
