Elizabeth Eckerd Thomas

Elizabeth Echerd Thomas, 72, of Charlotte, NC died unexpectedly Sunday, October 30, 2016 at her home, a place that she loved. She was born in Charlotte on April 3, 1944, a daughter of the late Carl Holland Thomas and Mary Echerd Thomas. Elizabeth loved a daily routine that included going out to lunch and shopping. She enjoyed the company of her cats including her special cat, Sabrina. In addition to her cats, she also loved and enjoyed puzzle books, television and watching for deer in her yard. Above all, Elizabeth is now in the loving and caring arms of God.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, Carl H. Thomas, Jr. and her special friend, Donald Moore.

Survivors include her brother, Dr. Robert Thomas and his wife Anne; sister, Dianne Thomas; sister-in-law, Julia Thomas and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where her service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd., Charlotte, N.C. 28207.

    Dianne, I was so sorry to hear about Elizabeth's death. I remember her well when I would see her so much with you eating out, etc during my banking days! You were a wonderful sister ! I have fond memories of working for you on Class projects at the bank. My heart and prayers are with you at this hArd time in your life ! Take care.
