Grant Ambrose Weeden

October 1, 2026

Grant Ambrose Weeden passed away from an extremely aggressive and rare case of neuroblastoma on October 1, 2026 at just 4 years old. He was born on February 13, 2022 in Matthews, North Carolina to Jacob Forest Weeden and Markie Grant Weeden.

Grant was an incredibly sweet little boy who required so little to be happy. He loved dancing with his shadow in the driveway, going for car rides, throwing rocks in the creek with his dad and drinking “sparkly water” any chance he got. He loved pretending it was Christmas year round. Not a day went by when he did not watch The Grinch or Elf Story.

He will be truly missed by all who know and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Steele Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill, 15000 York Road, Charlotte, NC 28278.

Flowers are welcome, and donations can be made to Jacy’s Wagons. While in treatment, these wagons became a kids’ safe haven when going to appointments all day everyday. There was a long waitlist, and every child at St. Jude deserves one. https://jacyswagons.org

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204. (704) 641-7606. You can share an online condolence at www.kennethpoeservices.com.

Grant lit up anyone’s life that was lucky enough to meet him, he was so happy and energetic every time I got the chance to be with him. Holding him while he chewed on my sunglasses and laughed hysterically in the driveway will be a memory I never forget. The world is a dimmer place without the little man.

Grant, you were so loved. Jake, Markie, the Weeden’s and the Grant’s, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I love you all so much.
