Alice Brewster Gates
November 5, 2025
CHARLOTTE – Alice Brewster Gates brought light into the world during her brief but well-loved life. Though her time was short, she touched everyone who knew her with her strength, curiosity, and perseverance.
From the beginning, Alice delighted in studying the world around her and always fought to keep her eyes open. She particularly loved to look at her beloved “moo moo horse”, and also to explore her surroundings with her hands. Throughout difficult moments, her determination and spirit shone brightly.
Her days were filled with love from her devoted family and the caring team of nurses who cherished her. Her sister Grace and brother Charlie celebrated her every day, bringing gifts and making sure she had the most decorated bed in the NICU. Her parents, Lindsay and Scott, held her close, reading her favorite books (Giraffes Can’t Dance for Dad and Alice in Wonderland for Mom) and treasuring each moment together.
Alice will be remembered for her perseverance, her curiosity, and the love she inspired. Though her life was brief, her presence made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to know her.
She is survived by her parents, Lindsay and Scott; her sister Grace; her brother Charlie; and her extended family.
“We love you, Alice. You will always be part of our family.”
