Michael Tribble

CHARLOTTE – Michael Tribble, 84, died peacefully at his home on June 24, 2025. A Charlotte native, Mike was born October 7, 1940, the son of Hal Tribble and Eleanor Hodges Tribble. He was a member of the second graduating class of Myers Park High School.  He entered NC State University College of Design in 1959 but his education was quickly interrupted by a tour of duty in the US Army Security Service from 1960 until 1963.  He returned to NC State and graduated with a BA in Architecture in 1967. 

Mike enjoyed a distinguished career with multiple architecture firms in Charlotte and California.  His career led to the formation of Clark, Tribble Harris and Li. He ultimately served as Chairman and following his retirement in 2017 as Chairman Emeritus of the firm, LS3P with the home office in Charleston, SC.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sayre Lineberger Tribble; his children, Stacy Rhodes and her husband, David of Charlotte, Conley Lenkiewicz and her husband, Jason of Denver, NC, Michael Hovis and his fiancée, Kristin Walker of Asheville, NC and daughter, Sayre Meyer of Asheville; grandchildren, Peyton Lenkiewicz, Emma Hovis and Cole Hovis; a brother, Hal Tribble and his wife, Amy, sisters, Nina Tribble, Vicki Moore and her husband, Richard, and  Lisi Tribble and her husband, David; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Quail Hollow Club. The service will be livestreamed at https://myersparkpres.org/live/
