William Lloyd Williamson

CHARLOTTE – William Lloyd Williamson, 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.  He was born in Montgomery County, NC to Elsie Vanhoy Williamson and Jonah Cagle Williamson.

Lloyd proudly served in the United States Army's 1st Infantry Division (nicknamed "The Big Red One") during the Korean War and continued his service in the Army Reserve.  After his military career, he moved to Charlotte, where he raised his family and built a successful career in operational and production management.  Over five decades, he contributed his expertise in industrial metals with major corporations overseeing operations in Charlotte, Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Lloyd had an unwavering dedication to helping others, particularly those experiencing homelessness.  His compassion and generosity touched many lives.  Above all, he was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Lloyd is survived by his three sons, Ben Williamson (Linda), Keith Williamson, and Anthony Williamson; his grandson, Wesley Williamson; and his brother, Charles Williamson (Jean).

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Light of Christ United Methodist Church, 9106 Bryant Farms Road, Charlotte, NC.

In honor of Lloyd's lifelong commitment to helping those in need, memorial contributions may be offered in his memory to your local homeless center.
