Bruce Allan Miller

Charlotte - Bruce Allan Miller, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home on April 17, 2025. 

Bruce was born on October 24, 1953 to Elmer Wallace Miller Jr and Verna Schweitzer Miller in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  He graduated from Cherry Hill West High School in 1971 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 1975.

Bruce began his career as a Medical Technologist at Presbyterian Hospital and later spent over 25 years at Carolinas Medical Center, where he was respected for his dedication and knowledge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Glenn Miller and Scott Miller.  He is survived by his wife, Lucia Medina of Charlotte, NC, and his three daughters: Lauren Smith and her husband Will of Charlotte, NC; Lindsay Buono and her husband Scott of Belle Isle, FL; and Catherine Nichols and her husband Jordan of Charlotte, NC.  He is also remembered by their mother, Mary Campbell Caldwell. 

Bruce was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Charlotte, Elizabeth, William, Ruthie-James, Robert Cor, Madeleine and Andrew.  He took great pleasure in watching them grow up.  He is also survived by his brothers Wayne Miller of Live Oak, FL and Keith Miller of Medford, NJ, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. 

In July 2015, Bruce married Lucia Medina, with whom he shared many loving and joyful years.

A private celebration of Bruce’s life will be held for family on Saturday, May 10th.

Bruce loved watching his grandchildren play sports, cheering on his favorite team, the Carolina Panthers, and traveling the world, especially to Colombia, where his wife is from.  He will be remembered for his kind heart and love for his family.
