Frank Carl Carbone, Sr.

CHARLOTTE – Frank Carl Carbone, Sr. of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025. Frank was born on January 12, 1933 in Newark, NJ to Carl and Lucy Carbone.
Frank attended Fairleigh Dickinson College before serving in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After military service, Frank joined IBM, retiring after 30 years. He later joined the US Treasury Dept., retiring after 10 years of service.
Frank and Dorothy traveled extensively after retirement. Frank did volunteer work with the USO, Friendship Trays, Shephard Center East and the AARP Taxaide program.
Frank is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Goetz Carbone of 69 years, a daughter, Luann Myers (David) of Fayetteville, NC; a son Frank Carbone, Jr. (Janel) of Charlotte, NC; a son, Patrick Carbone (Tina), of Greensboro, NC; 5 grandchildren, Christina Thompson (Parker), Lauren Yerkes (Jonathan), Rebekah Carbone, Samuel Carbone, and Elisabeth Carbone, and 4 great-grandsons, Landon, Riley, Judah, and Xander.
Frank is also survived by 3 sisters, Elvira Greco (Ralph), Lucy Erminio (Vincent), Carolann Waples (Fran) and a brother, Carl Carbone, Jr., several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucy Carbone, 2 sisters, Marie Cestaro (Nick), Patsyann Erminio (Frank), a sister-in-law, Anita Carbone, and 3 nephews, Peter Cestaro, Carl Cestaro, and Michael Erminio.
A memorial service will be held at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM with service following at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6401 Hickory Grove Rd, Charlotte, NC 28215. Or to The NC USO, Charlotte Chapter, 5501 Josh Birmingham Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28208.
