William "Bill" Katopodis
January 9, 2025
CHARLOTTE – William "Bill" Katopodis, 99, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, January 9, 2025. He was born on August 3, 1925, in Karya, Lefkada, Greece, to Dimitrios Katopodis and Ourania Stavrakas Katopodis.
Bill came to the United States on Thanksgiving Day in 1956 with his brothers, Philip and Paul, and his sister-in-law, Olga. In 1962, he returned to Greece and married his beautiful wife, Theodoula “Tula” Ktena Katopodis. Upon their return, he was employed by Belk’s as a tailor for 15 years. Together, with his wife, they owned and operated Park Road Alterations until their retirement.
His passions included gardening and watching wrestling; but most of all, he loved fishing and spending time with his family at the beach.
Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Theodoula; his daughters, Christine Copsis (Chris) and Demetra Zangotsis (George); his son, Johnny Katopodis; and six grandchildren, Heather, George, and Aspen Copsis; Victoria, Stephen, and Thalia Zangotsis. Also surviving are his siblings, Art Katopodis (Olga) and Loula Katopodis (Angelo); his sisters-in-law, Maria Katopodis and Loula Katopodis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dimitrios and Ourania Katopodis; sisters, Vickie Mikronis (Spiro) and Effie Koucouliotis (George); and his brothers, Philip and Paul Katopodis.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in memory of Bill to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Foundation, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.

Mr Bill, it was a pleasure to meet you last year. All I can think about is your big beautiful smile that I received from you once Victoria explained to you who I was. You are LOVED and will be missed but God saw you suffering and came and took you with him and i am glad to know that your family NEVER has to worry or think about where you are cause we know for a fact that you are with "The King" so take your rest and rejoice until we all meet up again. Until then, continue to Rest in Paradise. Love, "Nita"

Theodoula and extended family, my condolences on the passing of your beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother and Theo. I have a special story about Bill to share when I see any of you in person. I would be embarrassed for myself to share publicly. Bill was a good man just like his entire family. "May Bill's Memory Be Eternal and Zoi Se Sas".
