Doris Fadel
November 15, 2024
ALPHARETTA, GA – Doris Fadel, 81, of Charlotte, departed this life, passing away peacefully the morning of Friday, November 15, 2024, finally reunited with the love of her life, Samuel Fadel, her husband of 53 years. She was born in Pageland, SC on September 7, 1943, to the late Carl and Jewell Sanders.
Doris will be affectionally remembered as a woman who loved her family fiercely. Her husband, sons, granddaughter, and daughters-in-law were her everything. She reveled in the company of her family and friends, having a glass of Chardonnay over good conversation and laughs. Doris loved entertaining and was an outstanding hostess. She was a beautiful woman who was always well dressed and had a wonderful sense of style. Doris was a woman of tremendous generosity who loved decorating, especially at Christmas time, creating a home of love and warmth.
A strong woman, and a force of nature, her sons lovingly and fondly referred to Doris as “their little despot” whose love and no-nonsense view of life was the glue behind her family.
It was her strong will that enabled her to go back to college in her 40’s earning a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Queens University and serving as a role model to her sons. It was Doris who showed her boys what it is to be good men and good husbands, and how to love their own families. Much of who her sons became were because of her – she was always there, always available, never lacking in tough love and support. She was truly a remarkable woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.
Doris is survived by her son, Gregory Fadel and his wife, Kendra; granddaughter, Lily and daughter-in-law, Michelle Fadel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Fadel; son, Charles Fadel, and her bothers, Jimmy and Ray Sanders.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church, 5108 Kuykendall Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in memory of Doris to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 (https://act.alz.org/).
May Her Memory Be Eternal.
