Jacob Todd Woolery

August 15, 2024

CHARLOTTE – Jacob Todd Woolery, 22, went home to be with Jesus on August 15, 2024.

Jacob was born in Charlotte, NC, to Todd and Rebecca Woolery on February 7, 2002. Jacob graduated from Charlotte Christian School and attended Gardner Webb University and CPCC. During this time, he realized he loved working with his hands and was employed by Building Trust Plumbing company in Charlotte, NC. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, and riding dirt bikes. He loved playing video games and even created a game that he made free to the public that was downloaded by many. While in college, Jacob was also on a nationally ranked gaming team. He was a genius with technology, and was the family IT consultant, answering any possible questions on the subject.

Jacob’s love for fishing started when he was young, and his favorite place to fish was the Florida Keys with his family and friends. He caught all kinds of fish, sharing his passion for fishing with others. He also loved obscure historical facts and could talk anyone’s ear off about F1 racing, WWII tanks, politics, and anything related to trucks. He loved his truck (Big Red) mostly because it was his Papa's truck first, which made it even more special.

A service of love and remembrance will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at New City Church Southpark with Pastor Chris Payne and Pastor Travis Janousek officiating. Jacob’s family will receive friends between 12:30 – 1:30 PM, prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://www.newcity.us/info/eventstream. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Jacob's honor can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project: Donate to Veterans | Wounded Warrior Project.

Jacob is survived by his loving parents, Todd and Rebecca Woolery; sister Hannah Woolery; grandparents Larry and Linda Jenkins and Marty and Judy Woolery; aunts and uncles Missy Clark, Adam and Jennifer Thomas, Chris and Danielle Jenkins, and Jordan and Suzanne Chapell; cousins Nathan Clark, Stephen Clark, Rachel Clark, Mary Cait Thomas, Anna Jenkins, Callum Jenkins, Wesley Jenkins, Aven Chapell, and Foster Chapell; and a host of dear family friends, including his girlfriend Alexa Sirois.

Jacob was, and continues to be, loved and cherished by all. He brought joy to everyone he met, whether through a comedic comment or a flash of his dimpled smile. He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his joy of fishing and video games, and his big red truck. His last Sunday was spent with his family at church where a sermon of Jesus calming the storm was preached. This message impacted Jacob, and he knew his Savior and the depth of His great love for him. While our hearts are grieving, we take great comfort in knowing that Jacob is standing in the presence of his Savior and that we will one day see him again.

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204; (704) 641-7606. Online condolences may be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.

Todd, Rebecca and Hannah - I am so saddened for your loss. It has been several years since our boys played baseball together at Old Providence - but it seems like yesterday. I can still hear in my mind Todd calling out " Come on Jacob" and his grandparents cheering for him at every game. My heartfelt prayers go out to Jacob and you all. God Bless - Bob

Dear Todd, Rabecca and Hannah, we are so saddened to hear of the passing of Jacob. Our hearts morn with you, May you both be comforted with these words by our Savior. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." John 11:25 -26. We pray that this scripture brings you both strength and hope today and always.

I am incredibly saddened to learn of Jacob’s passing. Jacob and Hannah were my art students at Charlotte Christian during their Lower School years. I remember him having a gentle and eager spirit. May God cover your family as you navigate this profound loss.
