Vernon Trippe Anderson, Jr.

Vernon Trippe Anderson, Jr. was born August 2, 1937 and died July 15, 2024. Vernon was the son of Col. Vernon Trippe Anderson and Kathleen Palmer Anderson. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Vernon dedicated his life to family and business. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Gloria Hester Anderson. They shared 65 wonderful years together. Vernon and his brother Perrin formed the successful business partnership of Anderson & Anderson Inc., working side by side for over 50 years.

Vernon was a graduate of Davidson College. He was deeply involved in the Charlotte community. He served as the President of the Charlotte City Club and sat on the boards of BB&T, Mint Museum, Sharon Towers, and the Rotary Club of Charlotte. As an Elder and Deacon at Trinity Presbyterian Church, he exemplified faith and compassion. Nothing was more important to him than his family and he enjoyed family time at Lake Norman and Pawleys Island.

In addition to his wife, Gloria, Vernon leaves behind their children—Vern Anderson (Aliceon), Kathleen Barrett (Dan), and Mary Perrin Vlahoplus (Chris); grandchildren, Daniel Barrett (Kinzer), Rebekah Barrett, Christopher Vlahoplus (Julia), Megan Vlahoplus, Sam Vlahoplus; and great-grandchildren, Tripp Barrett and Perrin Barrett; and Vernon’s brother, Perrin Anderson and wife, Betty.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The service will be livestreamed on https://trinitypreschurch.org/. Click on Watch Worship.
