Troy James Crook
July 1, 2024
CHARLOTTE – Mr. Troy James Crook, 62, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Troy was born to Albert and Beverly Crook on June 16, 1962, and grew up in Sylvania, Alabama where he graduated Sylvania High School in 1980. He then went on to college at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and remained a huge Alabama football fan.
After moving to Charlotte from Atlanta, Troy worked for Premier Inc., where he had many valued coworkers and clients who regarded him highly.
When remembering Troy, many things come to mind; laughter, joy, jokes, funny stories, living life to the fullest, and wonderful memories. Things that Troy loved most were his family, his spouse, his beloved dogs, and a host of friends and good neighbors. He took great pride in gardening and he enjoyed traveling, laughing, and having a good time with family and friends.
Troy is survived by his spouse of 32 years, Jeffrey Dillard; his mother, Beverly Culbreth; sister and best friend, Francie and her husband, Mike Nappier; nieces and their families, Kayti Sanders and her children, Addison and Easton, and Kelbi and Cody Ballenger and their son, Owen as well as several cousins whom he also loved. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Crook; grandparents, Haskel and Bertie Burton and Grace Taylor, and aunts, Datha Ann and Bobby Trotman, and Louise and Jack Callaway.
Troy held great comfort knowing that the whole family will all be together again one day.

I was lucky to work with Troy for many of the last 19 years. I will remember him most for: his unwavering kindness, always doing things the right way, his passion for serving his customers/others, and, lastly, the way his eyes would light up any time that I asked him about Alabama football.
Such a wonderful soul. I offer my deepest condolences to his spouse, his family and his many friends.
