Jennifer Elizabeth Vahamikos

January 18, 2024

WILMINGTON – Jennifer Vahamikos, 46, our dear daughter and sweet sister died suddenly on Thursday, January 18, 2024, after a brief illness.  She was born in Johnson City, NY, on June 4, 1977.

At the age of two Jennifer became an honorary Southerner when her family moved to Charlotte.  She was a part of the Sunday school and Greek School at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, briefly singing in the church choir.  Jennifer attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools and was a graduate of Queens College with a dual degree in Music and Business.  She completed her coursework for her MBA at UNC Charlotte.  Jennifer worked for many years at Wells Fargo, making life-long friends in offices across the Southeast and beyond.  Her work allowed her to divide her time between Charlotte and Wilmington.  Over the past five years, she had become an experienced world traveler, visiting numerous countries in both Western and Eastern Europe. Her favorite destination, besides Greece, was Italy and she spent two memorable vacations there. While her work at Wells Fargo sustained her financially, the arts fed her soul.  Jennifer was an accomplished pianist.  Her family fondly remembers the many hours she spent on the piano bench both in her family home and at countless recitals and competitions. She was a founding member of the Queens College Dance Ensemble and continued to dance with various companies until the time of her passing.  Recently, she found great satisfaction as an instructor at Pure Barre.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Angelo and Helen Vahamikos, and her brother, George Vahamikos and his fiancée, Cristina Perez-Arranz.  She will be fondly remembered by many cousins and friends.  Her joy for life was unmatched and she will be sorely missed.

Funeral services for Jennifer will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered in memory of Jennifer to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Foundation, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.

May Her Memory Be Eternal.
