Daniel Wragg

October 26, 2023

CHARLOTTE – It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Wragg, 39, on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Once met, never forgotten, Daniel was born on December 6, 1983, in Scunthorpe, United Kingdom. The middle son of parents Christopher and Helen, Daniel grew up with his brothers, Matthew and Simon.

He enjoyed his childhood and adolescence years in Kirton in Lindsey, North Lincolnshire in the where he attended Huntcliff Comprehensive School. As a child, Daniel was a football fanatic, a passion he continued for the entirety of his life. A talented athlete, his enthusiasm and competitive nature could never be questioned.

Daniel pursued his passion and ambition of football, leading him to the United States on a football scholarship at Saginaw Valley State University. Following college he began a coaching career in New Jersey. Daniel eventually moved back to Michigan before finally settling in Charlotte, NC. He worked for several healthcare facilities including Atrium Health, AFC Urgent Care and most recently Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute. Throughout his career, he improved the lives of countless individuals including patients, forbearing colleagues and a wide circle of friends that have become almost his family. His compassion wasn’t limited to his profession. As a new father, Daniel embraced the joys (and tribulations) of parenthood with pride and fulfilment. His boundless energy, irreverent sense of humour and unwavering love will be acutely missed by his abiding friends and extended family.

Daniel is survived by his partner, Stella; their adored son, Oliver; mother, Helen Morris; his brothers, Matthew Wragg and his wife, Vicky and Simon Wragg and his wife, Sophie and niece, Monroe, and nephews, George, William and Dylan.

He was predeceased by his father, Chris and his devoted grandparents, Berwyn and Margaret Morris and Arnold and Edith Wragg. He leaves behind a legacy of love and his memory will be forever celebrated.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Daniel’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2023, at The Collector’s Room, 2122 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. A reception will follow the service at the venue.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to The Daniel Wragg Memorial Fund at www.gofundme.com/f/daniel-wragg that has been set up to provide ongoing support for Oliver’s future.

Despite the heartbreak, we take solace in knowing that Daniel’s spirit will continue to live on through the stories we share, the memories we revisit and with a love that remains undiminished.

May he rest in peace.

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204; (704) 641-7606. Online condolences may be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.

I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Danny! We got to know each other well while he was a student at Delta College in Michigan and I was his international advisor. Since then, we would catch up occasionally- most recently as I came across someone joking about some of the alternative pronunciations of Scunthorpe.

I attended Daniel's memorial today. the thoughts of his fond memories never really left my mind. Although I did find some answers to my questions but a few remained unanswered! Daniel, you were the one person I actually felt that I can count on in life, I even offered you to come back so we can work together professionally again! I saw Olive today and met Stella, they must be deeply hurt when you decided to leave them abruptly. Your mother were deeply in sorrow when she delivered your eulogy in front of all of us. She is a strong
person and wonderful mom:) R.I.P. Daniel.. you are terribly missed.....

20 years of friendship but a lifetime of memories. You impacted so many lives for the better, mine being one of them. I’ll never think of you without a smile on my face and definitely laugh thinking of some of the great times we shared together. From our MLS Camps days on the East Coast, visiting you in New Jersey and having you come out to California to visit. You may be gone but you’ll never be forgotten.

    Sleep tight buddy…

    Love you,
    Stotty

The biggest smile, the kindest heart and a wonderfully sensitive person. When I first met Daniel at the start of our MLS coaching days, he was the youngest of our new friendship but not the least in confidence and bravado. The time we spent together was full of laughs and ridiculousness and I will always think of you with love and happiness Wraggy. My heart goes with your family at this time of tragic loss. We will miss you brother. Brandon. X

Hearts are broken for this loss. Daniel impacted many lives and will be remembered for so much! I can attest that Daniel was a “doer”. He wanted to accomplish so much.
Although my time of knowing him seems short compared to those who may have years and decades, I can say he made an impact and this loss is sad. I am thankful for the opportunity of knowing Daniel Wragg. He helped me through a time as a parent when my daughter was not at a good place in life. Daniel, you will be missed by many but remembered by more!

May God bless Daniel family at this sad time. Daniel was the best office administrator you could have crossed paths with in life. He showed his professionalism each and every day. He listened to your concerns, and made fulfilled his duties on the job. He had a sense of humor like no other. He will truly missed by his Novant heart and Vascular staff. Job well done, R.I.P Daniel Wragg ‘Boss’
