Harry was a friend, a mentor and a constant supporter of all new band directors in the Charlotte area. I can’t wait to join him in the heavenly band up in Heaven!

Harry & I were in the same Myers Park High homeroom but lost touch after high school. Due to my name change when married & moving from Charlotte, I was never included in Reunion notices from Myers Park. Through a crazy coincidence Harry had a conversation with a neighbor who knew my sister & referred to her by her maiden name which Harry immediately recognized and sent word to me that I should reconnect with Myers Park. I contacted the Reunion committee and was blessed to attend

Harry and I were classmates & in the same homeroom at Myers Park High School. With the name change which occurred when I married & moved from Charlotte, I was never on he list to be advised of class reunions. Through a fluke while talking with his neighbor who knew my little sister and called her by her maiden name, Harry sent word to me that I should connect with the planning committee of the reunions for our Myers Park High class. I was blessed last October to attend our 60th Class of 1961 Reunion held 61 years after graduation! Harry was a great connector of people and cared deeply for all. I was totally blessed by my brief encounter with he and his wife Judy at this reunion! My condolences to the family and especially Judy. Harry made the world a better place!

My sincere codolences to Harry's family. I grew up living behind Harry. He was a couple of years older than me and was a good friend and role model. We enjoyed shooting baskets in his backyard and going to the movies at least once a month. He taught me how to play chess. He nicknamed me Malcolm and crafted a Kentucky Long Rifle for me out of a tree branch because I was enamored by the tales of Daniel Boone, Davey Crockett and men like them. I moved to Florida as a kid and lost track. He was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by countless others. GOD Bless...
