Jack Walter Little

March 16, 2023

CHARLOTTE – – Jack Walter Little, 75, died on Thursday, March 16, 2023.  He was born in Charlotte, NC on January 19, 1948 the son of Jack Watson Little and Margaret Cox Little.

Jack graduated from East Mecklenburg High and went on to the University of South Carolina where he played basketball before graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Those who knew Jack knew him as the purest representation of joy.  Jack was never afraid to be the first one on the dance floor to show off his shuffle and take on his role as the life of the party. His comedy routine was ceaseless and even if every joke didn’t land, he had a way of making the whole room erupt in laughter.  Jack was deeply connected to the outdoors and loved taking family trips to Lake Santeetlah, or Litchfield beach.  He was most at peace with a fishing pole or golf club in his hand and his family nearby.

Jack will be remembered for leading a life defined by his faith and devotion to his family and friends.  As a father, Jack was a hero and role model to each of his children.  As a husband, he exhibited a boundless kind of love and passion.  He flourished and found joy in any situation. Loved by all, he was an amazing husband, father, and loyal friend.

Jack is survived by his wife, Sinclair; his children, Ely, Simpson and Jack; his sister, Linda and her husband, Roger.  He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Mark.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.  The service will be livestreamed at:  https://www.christchurchcharlotte.org/funeral-live-broadcast/ for those unable to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in memory of Jack to Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207 or North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, 1702 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699 (https://www.ncwildlife.org/Donate).

Going to miss you Cuz!!! The miles between our families kept us from seeing each other on a regular basis, but we sure had fun when we all got together. From family vacations at Myrtle Beach in the 60’s to family reunions at Litchfield in the 90’s, we made the most of our time together. Lots of wonderful memories. We will all miss you.
