She shared her talents and leadership with many local charities—Wing Haven Gardens, The Charity League of Charlotte, Charlotte Country Day School Parents Association, The Charlotte Assembly, and The Mint Museum. The Wesley Sunday School Class at Myers Park Methodist

Church was very special to her, and through her membership in the Altar Guild she contributed to the beauty of church worship services for many years.

Doris loved being in Blowing Rock, caring for the hummingbirds while making family memories. She cherished her friendships at Blowing Rock Methodist Church and enjoyed leading bingo at Blowing Rock Country Club. An avid and skilled bridge player throughout her long life, Doris spent many happy days pursuing her passion with her friends and bridge clubs.

Doris had a very gracious heart and soul. We enjoyed her hospitality at her house in Blowing Rock, and her presence at Wesley Class activities while she was able. We have missed her in the class and will continue to remember her many kindnesses. May God bless all the family with the comfort of his presence during these days.
