Doris Bain Wrenn

Doris passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 5, 2022. She was born October 2, 1925 in Greensboro, N.C. to Elizabeth Furgurson and William Jennings Bain. Doris graduated from the Women's College and Duke School of Nursing. While at Duke she met and married Dr. Richard Nickles Wrenn. Together they had a full and happy life raising three sons in Charlotte and enjoying their growing family.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Richard Nickles Wrenn (2012). She is survived by sons, Rick (Ruth) of Asheville, N.C., Ronnie (Sally) of Charlotte, N.C., Reece (Judy) of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; her grandchildren, Rick Wrenn (Emily), Guy Wrenn (Kate),Jackson Wrenn (Anna), Holt Wrenn (Jennie), Sarah Donelan (Tripp), Bain Vaughn (Joel), Abbie Berry (Thomas), Reece Wrenn, and ten great-grandchildren.

A family service will be held at a later date at Myers Park United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers and Hospice for their unwavering attention and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 7845 Little Ave, Charlotte, N.C. 28226.

    Ronnie, Sally, Holt and Sarah,
    I'm sorry for your loss of Doris. I have such fond memories of Doris and remember the many times I would see Doris and Rick at Quail.
    Even though it was quite a few years ago, I still recall all the good times of seeing them and talking to them.
    I know they both lived a great life and Ronnie, as you said to me before, they both "wrung every drop of life" out of their time here on earth.
    My sincerest condolences to the Wrenn Family.
