I am saddened by the loss of such a good teacher friend but gladdened for Sonya’s home-going. Sonya and other teachers in the preschool were so welcoming to me when I joined the staff in the mid 90 s. What a great mentor she was. Not only did she leave me her physical classroom when she retired, but she “willed” me her file cabinet of lessons and crafts and wisdom which I often pull for preschool enrichment at MPP preschool today. It was always a nice surprise for me to see Sonya in the Goodness Gracious Gift Shop or hear her joyous laughter in the hallway. How blest I am to have known her.
