Martha "Cackie" Catherine Davis Baldwin

CHARLOTTE – Martha “Cackie” Catherine Davis Baldwin, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at her home.  She was born in Macon, GA on April 24, 1935, to Eloise Harrison Sullivan and Millard Earl Davis.

Cackie graduated from Hapeville High School and attended Georgia State University.  Prior to living in Matthews, NC, for the last 24 years, she lived in Westfield, NJ, for 35 years.  She was a very active member of the Westfield Service League while in NJ, and Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte.  

Cackie is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert “Bob” S. Baldwin, Jr.; her children, Rick Baldwin and his wife, Lisa of Atlanta, GA, Kent Baldwin and his wife, Gretchen of Aiken, SC, Jack Baldwin and his wife, Anita of Avon by the Sea, NJ and Catherine Baldwin-Johnson and her husband, Chris of Wheat Ridge, CO; grandchildren, Amy Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Kate Meyer and her husband, Matt of Cincinnati, OH,  Sarah Fox and her husband, Kevin of Atlanta, GA, Anna Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Wes Baldwin of Long Island, NY, Doug Baldwin and his wife, Carrie of Atlanta, GA, Robert “Bo” Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Sam Baldwin of Chicago, IL, Caroline Baldwin of Westfield, NJ and Charlie Baldwin of Atlanta, GA.  Also surviving are her three great grandchildren; her brother, Millard E. “Boe” (Jacques) Davis of Apex, NC, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and family members.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte with the Rev. Dr. Bill Jeffries officiating.  The service will be livestreamed at https://boxcast.tv/view/martha-cackie-baldwin-memorial-service-148659 for those unable to attend in person.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

    Several years ago Cackie Baldwin and her husband Bob moved to
    Matthews Glen, formerly Plantation Estates, and became my
    across the hall neighbors. Cackie was gregarious and very
    involved with our community. I found myself becoming great
    friends with the Baldwins and my heart aches at her passing.
    My sincere sympathy goes to her family and many friends.
