Frances Ann Morrow Meade

January 24, 2022

Frances Ann Morrow Meade passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Monday January 24, 2022 at the age of 83.

Frances was born July 29, 1938 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and was the second daughter of the late Franklin Carney and Annie Watson Morrow.  Frances was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Helen.

Frances attended the Chapel Hill public schools before graduating from UNC Chapel Hill.  After graduation and marriage in 1963, she moved first to Hatboro, PA, then to Charlotte in 1968, and finally to Belmont in 2016.

Frances is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allan; son, Franklin and wife, Rachel; two grandsons, Alexander and Jackson; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

A private family burial will be held in Crown Memorial Park, Charlotte.

For those who knew Frances, the most elaborate obituary would not be sufficient to detail her devoted Christian life and graciousness to family and friends.  For those who did not know her, a blessing was missed.

The family wishes to thank the staff and doctors of Wake Forest Baptist, Atrium, and CaroMont hospitals for their special care, and most particularly, Doctors Matulis, Kuremsky, and O'Brien for their exceptional devotion to Frances' care.

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Ave., Charlotte, NC; 28204 (704) 641-7606. Online condolences can be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com

Just heard of your terrible loss. Frances was an elegant lady. I lost my wife three years ago and have a good idea of your pain. Hang in there.

Allan, Linda and I were so sorry to read that Frances had died. She was a woman of grace and courtesy. And, in small ways touched lives and left the people who knew her a little bit better. We were fortunate to be your neighbors.
I hope that in time you will find peace and nourishment in your continuing life for the love you shared with Frances. Hatcher
