Mozelle Hubbard Busto

October 5, 2021

Mozelle Hubbard Busto, 89, of Charlotte, NC entered peacfully into the presence of our Lord on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, surrounded by her devoted family.

Mozelle was born in Huntersville, NC, to the late Fred Garfield and Eula (Russell) Hubbard. In 1987, she married her husband, John F. Busto. They both referred to each other as their "love of life" and favorite phrase to one another was "love, love".  Mozelle began her banking career with NCNB in downtown Charlotte. She enjoyed golf, bridge, gardening, baking and canning vegetables. Coming from a large family, she became a wonderful cook. Her children and grandchildren loved her homemade red velvet, coconut, and pound cakes. Mozelle and John made numerous trips to Key West where John had grown up.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mozelle is survived by her husband, John of nearly 34 years, and her daughters, Becky Baker and husband, Gil of Charlotte, Jill Calderone and her husband, Scott of Chapin, SC; stepdaughters Justine Busto and husband, Jarod of Charlotte, Elaine Smith and husband, Brian of Fayetteville, NC.  She is also survived by her five grandchildren who she loved deeply: Michelle Baker, Jonathan Baker and wife, Stephanie, Ashley Purcell and husband Charles, Dana Calderone and Ross Calderone. She also has many special sister-in-laws and wonderful nieces and nephews.

Mozelle was preceded in death by sisters Athelene, Clara and Kathleen; and her brothers Frank, Clyde, James "J.C.", Olin, Herman and Vernon.

Mozelle loved our Lord God, her husband John and all her children and grandchildren. The family will honor Mozelle's wish to have a celebration of her life in the spring time. She will forever be in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Hospice & Palliative Care-Charlotte Region, St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children. Mozelle was a wonderful loving mother-in-law and cherished friend. Even though she has passed on to the next life, I still feel her loving presence and hear her reassuring voice.
