Paul "Poppy" Joseph Porcelli

CHARLOTTE – Paul “Poppy” Joseph Porcelli, 74, died September 23, 2021, with his wife by his side in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born October 21, 1946, in Chicago, IL to Delores Rose Porcelli.
Paul grew up in Chicago, IL and graduated from Northwestern University. He later served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Paul and his wife eventually settled in Charlotte, NC where they raised their family.
More than anything, Paul was a devoted father and husband who lived for making those around him smile. He had a larger-than-life personality, a contagious laugh, and an enormous heart. Paul gave us hope and courage and reminded us to always live life to the fullest. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and had a strong passion for fishing and hunting.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jonella Porcelli; four daughters, Valerie Phillips and her husband, Brian, Vanessa Van de Meerssche and her husband, Siegert, Lora Tucker and her husband, Wyatt and Lea Porcelli and her fiancé, Patrick Hamilton. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Jake, Colton, Brooke, Reagan, Mia, Stella, Liviana, Tripp and Aspen whom he loved unconditionally and were his entire world.
A funeral mass to celebrate Paul’s life will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Road in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends for a reception and celebration of life at 5:00 PM at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, 4725 Piedmont Row Drive, Suite 170 in Charlotte, NC.
Memorials may be offered in memory of Paul to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Hospice Foundation of America, 1707 L Street NW, Suite 220, Washington, DC 20036.

Looks like I missed out not having the opportunity
To meet Paul. From what I hear he was nothing but full of fun and surprise. I do know he and Jenillnia made a wonderful team making and raising 4 beautiful daughters. I was blessed by everyone of them. Rest peacefully and Proud Paul
