William Stark Grenier

August 2, 2021

CHARLOTTE - William Stark Grenier passed away peacefully in his mother’s arms on Monday August 2, 2021. He was born on June 5, 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Nicole Fernandez Grenier and John Beaulieu Grenier, Jr. William spent most of his short life battling a myriad of complications stemming from a rare metabolic disorder, and his intense will to live daily awed his family, friends, and medical professionals. Though his time was short, the depth of his suffering generated an equal and opposite reaction in the love and meaning of the lives of those closest to him.

William is survived by his parents, his brother John “Jack” Crowe Grenier, and his grandparents: Vivian Barbara-Stark, Ernesto Fernandez, Celeste Crowe Grenier, and John Beaulieu Grenier and his wife Joy Houston Grenier. The memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday August 6, 2021 at Christ Church, 1412 Providence Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to a new Charlotte-based foundation that aims to advance rare disease awareness, education, and prevention: WARD’s Foundation, 2820 Selwyn Avenue, Suite 130, PO Box 824, Charlotte, NC 28209 http://www.wardsfoundation.org For donations and further information, please email ForWard@wardsfoundation.com

    Dear Grenier Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. It was an honor and a privilege to be William’s nurse during his NICU stay. Although his time was brief, he enriched the lives of everyone around him. May you all find peace and comfort during this challenging time.

    Warmly,
    Shayna
