CHARLOTTE – David Timothy Rouse, age 76, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer.

David was born in Bucklesberry, North Carolina to parents William Alton Rouse and Carol Sutton Rouse on July 10, 1945, joining the long-standing Rouse/Sutton families of Lenoir County. He graduated from LaGrange High School and North Carolina State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Technology. He then served in the National Guard for 6 years while beginning a career in the textile industry with Dupont, and JP Stevens. After 25 years with Allied Signal/Performance Fibers, David retired in June 2008 as Global Marketing Director – Tire Products at which time he established Rouse Enterprises and continued to work in sales with an extensive network of contacts within the US and European tire industry.

David met the love of his life, Deborah (Debbie) Jones in Raleigh, NC and together they embarked on a 29-year journey that culminated in what he would call his life’s greatest achievement – his family. While they lived in Charlotte, they soon discovered a second home within Olde Beau Resort and Golf Club in Roaring Gap, NC. David treasured his time at Olde Beau - enjoying golfing with the Gangsome on Saturday mornings, serving on the Olde Beau Homeowners Association and Olde Beau Property Owners Association, while also spending time with many wonderful friends.

Rouse; daughters, Jennifer Henderson Kelly and her husband, Larry Kelly, and Elizabeth Henderson Monroe and her husband, Vaughn Monroe; five grandchildren, Olivia Clark, Emily Kelly, Josephine Monroe, Asha Monroe, and Vijay Monroe; Brother-In-Law, Dan Jones and wife, Julie Jones.
