Thomas Lynn Tschetter

July 1, 2021

INDIAN LAND – Thomas Lynn Tschetter, 76, passed from this life on Thursday, July 1, 2021. He was born November 6, 1944, in Redfield, South Dakota, to the late Emanuel and Esther Tschetter. Tom grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota and attended Aberdeen Central High School and Aberdeen’s Northern State College.

Tom retired from a long career in banking in 2001 and enjoyed 10 years in a retirement job at Target in Charlotte, NC. He was active in the Masons, Scottish Rite, and Elks organizations.

As an avid reader, Tom was passionate about history and politics. Reading the daily newspaper with a cup of coffee in hand was his morning ritual never to be missed. He enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places, often taking day trips to explore a museum or old historic site. Most precious and cherished by Tom was time spent with his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary Tschetter; daughters, Alicia Tschetter Brittenham and her husband, Duane of North Platte, NE and Jacqueline Graf of Yakima, WA; grandchildren, Ethan Brittenham, Ricky Mendiola and Hannah Mendiola. He is also survived by his brothers, Dorwin Tschetter and his wife, Millie of Morris, MN and Glenn Tschetter and his wife, Joyce of Billings, MT.

It was Tom’s wish there be no funeral service.

Tom suffered from Polymyositis, an autoimmune muscular disease. Memorials may be made in his name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at: https://mda.donordrive.com
