Ann Peavler Barton

CHARLOTTE – Ann Peavler Barton, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on June 12,2021 at the age of 90. She was the daughter of Eileen Wagner Peavler and Wade Rutledge Peavler. She was born in Bristol, VA and attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Sullins College. While living there, Ann met her perfect match, Jesse Moore Barton Jr, to whom she was married for over 62 years. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Johnson City TN, Charleston WV, and Bristol VA, before moving to Charlotte to be near their daughter.  Ann loved to travel and enjoyed her family vacations to Colorado, Canada, Europe and the annual family trip to St Simons Island GA. She was predeceased by her husband Jesse.

Her surviving relatives include her daughters Suzy Ohl (Matt) of Charlotte and Eileen deOcampo (Vincent) of Bend Oregon. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katy Ohl Moore (John), Sara

and Christopher Ohl of Charlotte and Christian and Caroline deOcampo of Bend Oregon, as well as her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Harper Moore of Charlotte.

The family would like to personally thank the staff at Sharon Towers for their care over the last several months as well as the Caregivers group at Myers Park UMC for their inspiration and compassion.

A service of celebration will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday June 19,2021 at Francis Chapel in Myers Park UMC. A private graveside service will be held in Bristol VA.
