Valeri "Val" Ivannikov

CHARLOTTE – Valeri "Val" Ivannikov, 74, passed into God’s hands on Monday, May 10, 2021.  Val was born on August 14th, 1946 in Gomel, Belarus.  Upon his retirement he and his wife moved to the United States to reunite with their two children and grandchildren, who immigrated there some years earlier.

Val is survived by his loving wife, Nina; children, Alexander Ivannikov and his wife, Katherine and Larisa Cato and her husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Ksenia Ivannikov, Dariya Ivannikov, and Henry Alexander Cato.  He is also survived by his sister, Nadia Zolotareva and brother, Alexander Sorokin and many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Belarus. 

A private funeral service for the family will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Reigning Mother of God Russian Orthodox Church, 5310 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC 28269.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Val’s memory to Reigning Mother of God Russian Orthodox Church.
