Ruth Anne Crenshaw
February 17, 2021
CHARLOTTE – Ruth Anne Crenshaw of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Wednesday, Feb 17, 2021, from respiratory illness. She was born in Atlanta, GA, on June 17, 1964, to the late Robert Walden Crenshaw, Jr., and Mary Frances Crenshaw. Ruth Anne lived there until 2018, when she moved to Charlotte.
Being on the autism spectrum, Ruth Anne had many unique qualities, and she charmed everyone who met her. Among her favorite activities were arts and crafts, listening to music of all kinds, and watching her favorite TV shows—with courtroom shows and Wonder Woman at the top of her list. Ruth Anne relished good food; at restaurants, the rest of the family would wait to see what Ruth Anne ordered because she invariably picked the best thing on the menu. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending church. Ruth Anne's loving spirit and her sweet, individual ways endeared her to those who engaged her in conversation. In her last hospitalization, the nurses all declared that Ruth Anne was their favorite patient.
Ruth Anne is survived by her four sisters: Emily Crenshaw Perkins, Kathleen Crenshaw, Dorothy Crenshaw (Larry Bennett), and Tina Crenshaw; and five nieces and nephews, along with their spouses and children. She will be terribly missed by all.
Ruth Anne will be laid to rest in Atlanta, next to her parents and grandparents.
In Charlotte, Ruth Anne was assisted by magnificent caregivers from Aroga Home Healthcare. Her family is so grateful for what these ladies gave Ruth Anne and especially the love and faith of those caring for her during her final hospitalization. Thanks also go to the physicians at Atrium Pulmonary Care and the staff at Atrium Health Pineville.

I was so sad to hear of Ruthie's passing. I have considered Ruthie part of my family for over 50 years. She was such a sweet girl. She always seemed so happy to see me and at Christmas when I gave her a present she would say with a big smile, "oh Scott, thank you sooo much! I love it, I love it". She knew how to make others feel good. Ruthie will always be thought of warmly in my memories.
