CHARLOTTE - Jean Fox Michael, 104, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away after a long and remarkable life. She was born on September 12, 1921, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, witnessing more than a century of change. She was the daughter of Roscoe L. Fox and Louise W. Fox. Jean graduated from Central High School in 1940 and went on to attend Queens College.

On September 11, 1948, Jean married Howell H. “Mike” Michael, beginning 63 years of marriage.  Together they raised two sons, Howell H. “Hal” Michael (Julie) and Jon F. Michael (Patricia), who were a source of pride and joy throughout her long life.

She lived her entire life in Charlotte, building deep connections and touching the lives of friends, neighbors, and family. Jean was especially proud of her growing family, and she delighted in her five grandchildren and ten great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought her joy and kept her spirit young.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her older sister Elsie Fox Spadola, and her younger brother Roscoe L. “Buddy” Fox.  She is survived by her sons, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren.

A private service will be held to honor her life.
