Sally Coleman Hopkins

 CHARLOTTE - Sally Hopkins, born August 26, 1931, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and unwavering service to others.

The beloved daughter of the late Glenn E. and Mabel Pulsifer Coleman, Sally grew up in both Auburn and Rochester, New York, where she attended local schools and graduated from John Marshall High School. She went on to earn her degree from Keuka College in 1953 and began a meaningful career in education, teaching in Rochester elementary schools. After her teaching career, she worked at B. Forman’s and Art-Craft Optical in Rochester, NY.

Throughout her life, Sally was dedicated to enriching her community, holding numerous volunteer roles, including at the Rochester Museum of History, as a Candy Striper, and with the Neighborhood Outreach at Resurrection Church of Charlotte. In every role she held, Sally brought calm, order, and a quiet strength that comforted those around her.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeff, of Charlotte, NC, and Sean, of Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Edmund H. Coleman, and her sister, Betsy C. Ullrich.

A celebration of Sally’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Resurrection Church, Commonwealth Avenue, Charlotte, NC.

Sally will be laid to rest with her parents at Sodus Cemetery in Sodus, New York.

In remembrance of her gentle spirit and a life well-lived, all who knew her are invited to join in honoring her memory.
