Nicolas "Nick" McLain Infante

February 1, 2025
CHARLOTTE – Nicolas McLain Infante, beloved husband of Blakely and devoted father of their three children, tragically passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 41.
Born October 9, 1983 in Buffalo, New York, Nick moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he attended Shorecrest Preparatory School. He went on to the University of Miami where he earned his bachelor’s degree, double majoring in finance and entrepreneurship in the University of Miami School of Business. He was living in New York City and working for Morgan Stanley when he met his wife, Blakely, in 2009. They were married in 2013. The life and family they built together were Nick’s absolute joy. In 2015, they moved to Charlotte, where he joined Wells Fargo’s distressed debt trading desk. They welcomed their first child later that year.
In the coming years, they were blessed with the birth of two more children. Nick was deeply devoted to Blakely and each of their three children, and they adored him. While his career was both fulfilling and demanding, it was at home where Nick was his true self -- humble, patient and often silly. No one could make his children laugh like he could, and he was so proud of them. Nick’s total focus was loving his family and creating a home and community in which his children could thrive. His bear hugs and unwavering love and support of family were second to none.
Those who knew Nick saw that he lived life to the fullest and cherished finding joy in every day moments. Nick was a kid at heart and made ordinary things magical in the eyes of his children, from golf cart rides in the mountains, to backyard games, and making the Christmas spirit come to life, which was his absolute favorite. He counted the days all year until Christmas celebrations could begin.
Nick loved everything about sports, especially watching football and cheering for the University of Miami. He treasured spending time in Linville, North Carolina, where nature and the people he loved most felt a little bit closer. Simple things – weightlifting, playing with his dog, Gunner, and being outside – brought him the greatest joy. Though Nick had so much to be proud of, he was happiest letting his loved ones shine. At his core, Nick was a kind and thoughtful person, always striving to take care of others. He was generous in a way that built community wherever he went.
Nick is survived by his loving wife and their three children; and the extended family he held dear.
A memorial service will be held on at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. Family will receive friends following the service in Oxford Hall.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions may be made to college funds for Nick’s young children. Please contact Blakely’s sister, Lindsay Martin (loffutt@carolina.rr.com), to receive contribution links to the college funds.
