Suzanne Pharr, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma died on August 13,2024. Suzanne was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 7, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Jones Yorke Pharr Jr. and Polly Goforth Pharr.

Suzanne earned a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in French from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

After graduation, Suzanne moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and taught foreign languages in the public school system in Tulsa. Having a special talent for learning and teaching languages, she helped people of all ages learn to speak and use both French and Spanish.

She retired after many years of teaching high school but continued to teach privately and offer her translation skills to churches and other organizations. She took many trips to France and always cherished opportunities to travel with friends and students and share those experiences with others.

Suzanne was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. She loved reading and studying The Word. Her strong faith was inspirational to all those that knew her.

Suzanne is survived by her brothers, Jones Yorke Pharr III, John Robert Pharr and David Harmon Pharr, as well as nieces and nephews, Jones Yorke Pharr IV, James Wesley Pharr, Jennifer Pharr Davis, John Robert Pharr Jr., Stewart Whitney Pharr, Lydia Pharr Bobo, Harriet Pharr Creech and David Harmon Pharr Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM local time on Wednesday, October 2nd at Saint James Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Interment will take place at a later date at First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
