CHARLOTTE – Tricia Ann Kerrigan formerly of Newport Beach, CA passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Charlotte, NC, after a brief illness following a stroke one month earlier.

Tricia was raised in San Diego and attended San Diego State University, where she majored in Accounting. Upon graduation, she immediately passed the CPA exam, and was the first woman auditor hired by Arthur Anderson in Los Angeles and the second woman auditor in the firm.

Tricia was hired by toy company Wham-O Mfg. in 1973, as a Controller.  Upon leaving Wham-O, Tricia became an entrepreneur and operated retail businesses in Newport Beach, CA. She studied interior design and owned a successful interior design business where she decorated homes both locally in California and in Oregon, Colorado, Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

Tricia’s family was significantly involved in sailboat racing in Newport Beach.  In recent years, Tricia and her husband were proud owners of six Golden Retrievers.  Tricia was a member and Board Member of the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles primarily dealing with show dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James of Fort Mill, SC; her children, Stephen, Monique, Peter, and Julia. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and John Hamecher.

Services will be private.  Tricia’s cremains will be inurned at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar, CA.
