Cynthia Parker Harrison

January 6, 2023

CHARLOTTE – Mrs. Cynthia Parker Harrison (Nana), 85, passed peacefully Friday, January 6, 2023 at her residence in Matthews Glen. She was a native of Shelby, NC and the daughter of the late Dr. Shepherd and Margaret Parker.

Cynthia was a homemaker, a Church Administrator at Matthews Presbyterian in the 1980’s, a graduate of Queens College, and a lifelong member of Sardis Presbyterian Church, where she served in many capacities including Elder. She had a passion and gift for teaching the Bible and lead classes at her beloved CBS (Community Bible Study) for many years. She loved spending time with her church friends at places like Kanuga and Lake Junaluska, and she always treasured time spent down at the Beach, which she loved so dearly. Cynthia was devoted to her family and was always there for anyone needing guidance and support.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Harrison; two sons, Todd Harrison and his wife, Jonna and Scott Harrison and his wife, Heidi; four grandchildren, Ansley, William (Will), Dylan and his wife, Amanda, and Kyle, all of Charlotte, and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Ayden, both of Charlotte.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Susan Guion, Nana’s special caregiver, who was a blessing to our family during this challenging time in our lives.
