Jerry David Strange

September 28, 2022

CHARLOTTE – Jerry David Strange, 61, gained his wings and has joined his family in Heaven on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Reflecting on David’s life, he will be remembered most for having the biggest heart of all.  He loved his family dearly.  He was the happiest when helping them.  David would help anyone with anything.  He had the biggest sense of humor.  His family felt he missed his calling and should have been a comedian.  David could make someone laugh until they cried.  He told so many stories and jokes that he would keep you wanting to listen to him for hours.

David was a handy man in the home repair business.  He chose this as his profession so he could help people out.  He also was a great artist as well.  David painted for businesses in Charlotte like Green's Hot Dogs.

David's health was very taxing during the last year of his life.  He has now joined all his departed family that he missed dearly especially his Mama.  His family can be assured that he's at peace and resting forever with Jesus and his heavenly family.

David is survived by his fiancé, Amanda Drake; sons, Jackie David Strange and his wife, Dora, Myreon Bennett, Jr.; daughter, Destiny Drake and grandchildren, Joshua, Haven Biddy, A’Nyia McGill.  Also surviving are his sisters, Cayren Lloyd and her husband, Cecil and Judi Strange; stepmother, Charlotte Isenhour; uncles, Billy Strange and his wife Barbara and Floyd (Ray) Swanger; aunts, Anette Kirkland, Darlene Swanger, and Sue Swanger as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.  David was preceded in death by his parents, Caye Swanger and Max Hugh Strange; sisters, Kimberly (Rae) Strange and Nina Case; brothers, Timothy H. Strange and Jerry B. Strange and nephews, Pepper Buchanan, William Buchanan and Christopher (Bug) Lloyd.
