Dr. Leah Injijian

CHARLOTTE – Leah Injijian died on Sunday, August 15, 2021 in Charlotte, NC, of natural causes. She was 92. Leah was born in Rostov-Don, Russia and lived there through the Nazi occupation and World War II.

Dr. Injijian resided in Los Angeles and Palm Springs California since 1973, the year that she emigrated to the United States from the former Soviet Union with her family. She attended medical school in Rostov-Don and specialized in anesthesiology. Leah married Dr. Albert Injijian in 1959.

Her husband predeceased her in 2016, after which she moved to Charlotte, NC to be closer to her daughter Angela. She will be remembered as a strong, professional woman who loved parties and never turned down an invitation.

Leah is survived by her daughter, Angela McGahan and her husband, Robert of Charlotte, NC; granddaughters, Claire and Abigail. She was predeceased by her daughter, Irene Ross.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in the chapel of Wiefels and Sons Funeral Home, 690 Vella Road, Palm Springs, CA 92264. Interment will follow at Desert Memorial Park, 31705 Da Vall Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234.
