CHARLOTTE – Eleftherios G. Kostopoulos 79, of Charlotte, NC passed unto the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Leftheri was born in Stefani, Evrytanias, Greece. Leftheri came to Charlotte, NC in 1967 with his wife Maria. He was a business owner and enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed being at the Kafenio and spending time with all his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Georgios Ioannis Kostopoulos and Paraskevi Giannopoulos and his siblings: Ioannis, Dimitrios, and Konstantinos. Leftheri is survived by his wife Maria of 54 years, his son George, and daughters Vivian Baucom and her husband Virgil, and Virginia Kastanas and her husband John, his nephew John Kostopoulos and his wife Jessica.  His grandchildren: Eleftherios (Evan) and Christos Vlahos, Maria and Nicholas Kastanas: brother Evangelos and wife Maria, sisters Georgia Kapelakis, Ioanna Antonakis and many nieces, nephews and Godchildren in Charlotte and in Greece. Visitation is at 10:00 am and Trisagion and Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Chanter Stand. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Dr. Peter N. Copsis for all his care and support.
