MIDLAND- David Glenn Turner, Sr., 54, passed peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 27, 2023, surrounded by all those that loved him so very much.  He was born on May 16, 1969. 

David was a family man that adored and loved all three of his children and his granddaughter.  To say David was a maverick, and his own man, would be a statement that most all that knew him would agree with.  Although he could be a jokester and a prankster at times, he would do anything he needed to do to make his children happy, even if that meant sacrificing his own happiness.  He loved the great outdoors, whether doing projects around the house or riding his golf cart, ATV or bikes around the neighborhood with his children, he always enjoyed those special times they spent together. 

Although David had several health challenges throughout much of his life, he was a kind soul that persevered through life without complaining or looking for attention.  He was a good man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his children, David Glenn Turner, Jr., Lilly Abigail Turner and Jace Aeron Turner; his granddaughter, Ember Jade Turner; his stepmother, Linda P. Turner; his aunt, Judith T. Carpenter; and a host of other family and friends who loved him.  He also loved his special longtime feline companion, Norman, and the three goats that he had recently acquired.  He was predeceased by his parents, James A. Turner, III and Mary Hopping Sistare.   

David’s family would like to give thanks to Dr. Patrick Fillnow, Calondra Shepherd, PA, Dr. Daniel Tierney and all of the Atrium Health Cabarrus ICU associates that assisted with his care.

A graveside service celebrating the life of David Glenn Turner, Sr., will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC officiated by Pastor Jamie Hamrick of Rocky Mount Church, Mooresville, NC.
