Kenneth Poe Funeral Services

CHARLOTTE – Wayne S. Hill, 68, of Charlotte, died Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.

Mr. Hill was a retired freelance graphics and web designer.  He was previously the communications director for the chemicals and dyes company Crompton & Knowles.  A native of Tallahassee, FL, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Elizabeth Hill, both of Tallahassee.  He was a graduate of Florida State University.

A former tournament player at Dilworth Billiards, he loved playing pool, crafting excellent cocktails, and listening to music, particularly the Internet station Radio Paradise.

Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Kathleen Purvis; his son, Christopher Hill of Durham, NC; his brothers, Joel Hill of Tallahassee, FL and Paul Hill and his wife, Mollie of Apalachicola, FL and sister-in-law, Laurie Purvis of West Palm Beach, FL.  Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Lawton Hill (Emily) of Tucson, AZ, Katie Hill (Travis Hodge) of Arvada, CO, Justin Hill (Heather) of Austin, TX, and Ashleigh Buhler (Brett) of Duluth, GA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1510 East 7^th Street, Charlotte, NC.
