Raymond H. Levesque

CHARLOTTE – Raymond H. Levesque, formerly of Mamaroneck, NY, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the age of 96 in Charlotte, NC.  He was born December 15, 1926, in Coventry, RI, the son of Wilfred Levesque and Mathilda Smith Levesque. 

The purchase of a single share of stock in McCall Corp. during Ray’s first year of college sparked a lifelong fascination with Wall Street and a 57-year career as a stockbroker and investment advisor.  He was an office manager for Goodbody & Co. and national sales manager for Herzfeld & Stern, a regional firm based in New York.  His last employer was Brill Securities in New York City.  A graduate of Providence College (RI) class of 1950, Ray was active in the PC Club of New York, raising funds and organizing social events.  He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Mercury AKS42 as a radarman 3rd class during World War II and as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Marine Division, in the Korean conflict.  An exemplar of the courage and hard work of the “Greatest Generation”, Ray will be remembered as a gentleman, patriot and loving father.

Ray is survived by his children, Marie Levesque of Chicago, IL, Charles Levesque of Chicago, IL, Wilfred Levesque and his wife, Bettina of Chatsworth, CA, Mathilde Levesque of Charlotte, NC.; grandchildren, Celine, Raymond and Jared Levesque, all of Chatsworth, CA; and his sister, Dr. Henriette Allen of Clinton, MS.  He was the devoted husband of the late Ann McNerney for 52 years. 

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
