I enjoyed playing golf with Keels in our Sunday school golf tournament where he made many putts for us, and having lunch with Keels at the Moosehead almost every Thursday. He made it a special point to come over and shake my hand and ask how I was doing.I will never forget his generosity

    Dear Joan,
I was distressed to learn of Keels' death yesterday. I have notified Len Schodowski who is the Scribe for the Class of 1963 at The Citadel and he will notify the Class. I also sent personal emails to those of us who are left in N Company. It was my privilege to have been his roommate for 3 years at The Citadel. We shared so many thoughts and dreams. Keels lived a productive life. I am glad I had some part in his life although not having seen him in the last number of years. He will be missed by all. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Julian

Keels was an inspiring writer who always piqued my interest and even curiosity. Many times, when reading one of his writings, I had to consult the dictionary to get the exact meaning of some of his words of choice. Thanks be to God for Keels and his interesting and inspiring words! May God's greatest comfort be with his family during these days.
