Mary Hondropulos Milliones

CHARLOTTE – Mary Hondropulos Milliones died at her home on Friday, May 19, 2023.  She was born on December 3, 1933 at New York Hospital in New York City, NY to Christos and Evangeline Hondropulos.

Mary grew up in Manhattan and Astoria, New York and attended Julia Richman High School. After graduating, she worked as an office secretary for an insurance company in New York City. In 1955, Mary married Peter Milliones of Charlotte and started her family.  She was an incredible homemaker with many talents.  In 1979, she began working at Medical Pharmacy with Pete and helped run the business.  Mary was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and volunteered in many ways.  She was an avid member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, serving as treasurer for several years and as a member of the cookbook steering committee.  She served on the Greek School PTSO board and also volunteered at the annual Yiasou Greek Festival.

Mary is survived by her children, Natalie Scott and her husband, David, Stacy P. Milliones and his wife, Susan, and Lynne Thomas and her husband, David; her eight grandchildren, Lauren Scott, Meredith Scott, John Scott and his wife, Ashley, Ana Bronson and her husband, Theron, Peter Milliones II, Christopher Thomas, Alexander Thomas and his wife, Kalene, and Robert Thomas.  Also surviving are her five great-grandchildren, David Scott, Caroline Scott, John William Scott, Henry Scott, and Theodore Bronson; nephews, Chris Hondropulos and Peter Hondropulos and their families.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Fr. Christian Siskos and Fr. Robert Lawrence officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
