Janet Claire McDonald Bradley

Janet Claire McDonald Bradley, 88, of Charlotte died Monday, September 5, 2022 at Brookdale Carriage Club. She was born June 30,1934 in Waterloo, Iowa to Kenneth Robert McDonald and Ruth Mae Vaughn McDonald. Janet graduated from Iowa State Teachers’ College with a degree in early childhood education and taught first grade.

Janet was a gifted singer, an accomplished flutist, and played in the Waterloo, Iowa Symphony. In addition, she was a teacher in the weekday school at Myers Park United Methodist Church.

Janet is survived by her husband, Rev. Erman Franklin Bradley, ret., daughters, Susan Linenkohl and Sandra Austin, both of Charlotte; son, Robert Bradley of Statesville, NC; sister, Karen McCaffery of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren, David Smitherman, Lisa Stouffer, Justin, Jordanae and Jaymes Linenkohl, and Aaron Bradley and eight great-grandchildren. Janet is loved and greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Myers Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Roth officiating.

    God Bless you Jan, rest in peace in the arms of the Lord. You sat behind me in SS and I always loved hearing your beautiful voice as we sang our opening hymn. We miss you. dw
